The Power of God’s Grace

Where would we be without God’s grace in our lives?

Our human nature is to go against God.  Even when we know the consequences, sometimes we still feel the urge to sin.  I was saved at a very early age, but I can still remember having that feeling as a little girl.

I remember at one of my birthday parties, I received a beautiful doll, some bubble bath, and a replica of an old-timey washtub.  What a combination!

The doll came with a beautiful white, satin wedding dress.  My mother looked at me and said, “Don’t you even think of washing that dress!”

But the urge was too great!  No matter what the consequences were, I just had to wash that dress in that bubble bath in the washtub!  How could anyone resist that!

Did I get in trouble?  Of course!  And the worst part was the dress was never the same!  My mother knew what would happen to that dress and she warned me, but the urge to “sin” was just too great!

But here’s the amazing part of this story: A mother’s love and God’s grace cover a multitude of sins!  The Bible says where sin abounds, grace does much more abound!

I don’t know about you, but I am deeply grateful for God’s amazing grace!  The dress may never be the same, but I’ve moved on from that mistake.  And I realize more than ever that His grace is more than enough to cover anything we could ever do!  All we have to do is ask!
