Joyful Praise

“To the King that rules forever, who will never die, who cannot be seen, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever” (1 Timothy 1:17). Another translation reads, “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” When we proclaim praise to God for Who He is, not just for what He does for us – THAT is joyful praise!

Max Lucado says that when we praise the Father, we reestablish the proper chain of command; we recognize that the King is on the throne and that He has saved His people. Hallelujah is the final Hebrew word in the Psalms of King David. It is the most powerful form of praise in Holy Scripture. If you look up the word Hallelujah in the dictionary it says “Praise Jehovah”.

So today, may your heart be full of joyful praise to the King! Hallelujah to Jehovah our God!
