Making the Right Choice
Psalm 119 is the longest psalm in the Bible – 176 verses to be exact. There are so many great verses in that one chapter, but there is one verse kind of squeezed in right at the end that I think is really important.
Verse 173 says, “Stand ready to help me because I have chosen to follow your will.” While we can’t make demands of God, there are certain things we can count on and expect, when we make the choice to follow Him and live in His will.
I love how The Message paraphrase translates this verse. “Put your hand out and steady me since I’ve chosen to live by your counsel.” Do you need God’s help today, maybe a little “steadying”? If you have chosen to live in the “will of God,” it’s yours for the asking. Making the right choice always pays off for the child of God!
