How Can I Help?
Recently a lady called the church needing assistance. She was without food and lived in a nearby city. We referred her to a couple of places where she might get some help. They weren’t able to help her and she called again.
On this particular day, a lady in our church, who is a fabulous cook, brought meals into the office for the staff to take home. (I was so excited! A free meal! No cooking!) But my husband suggested we send those meals to the lady in need. And the fabulous cook offered to help by taking the meals to her.
It reminds me of Romans 15:1-2 (MSG). “Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, ‘How can I help?’”
God bless the lady in need. I’m praying she will know how much our Heavenly Father loves her! God bless the lady who said, “How can I help?” May we all look for ways to lend a hand to those in need!
