Thirsty

Do you remember when you were a kid and how hot it would be when you would play outside? Remember how you would love a popsicle in the summertime? And sometimes it would be so hot you could barely finish it before it would melt!

Psalm 63:1 says, “My soul thirsts for You…in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”

Verse 2 says, “I have beheld You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.”

Can you relate to David when he said these words? Do you ever feel so “thirsty” that your soul just cries out to see God’s power and glory?

I think we can see God’s power and glory, if we do what David did. He said, “…My lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live…” (Psalm 63:3,4)

We are getting close to the end of this very hot summer, but it’s never too late to praise and bless the Lord. God will surely satisfy our thirsty hearts. He can quench our thirst and satisfy our souls better than anything this world could ever offer!
