Psalm 77

I recently reread Psalm 77 and I found it quite interesting. I write in a journal when I’m reading my Bible. On this day, I wrote in my journal “Psalm 77 – from discouragement to victory.”

In the beginning of this chapter, the Psalmist is desperately crying out to God. He can’t sleep and he feels like God has abandoned him.

Then after he has finished with his time of confusion and questioning, he writes this: “I will remember the deeds of the Lord.” (verse 11)

A different translation reads like this: “Once again I’ll go over what God has done, lay out on the table the ancient wonders; I’ll ponder all the things you’ve accomplished, and give a long, loving look at your acts.” (verses 11-12)

And that’s the key. When we begin to think of the goodness of God, it will take us from a place of discouragement to a place of victory!
