God of the Details
Do you ever wonder if God cares about everything in your life? Of course, we know He cares about our spiritual life; that we have accepted Jesus and are ready for Heaven. Those are by far the most important things.
But what about the everyday things that might be important to us? Does God care about those things?
There’s a story in 2 Kings 6:1-7 that I really love. The prophets were cutting down trees. They told Elijah they needed a bigger place for all of them to live. They went to the Jordan River and began to work.
In the process, an iron ax head fell into the water. One of the men cried out, “Oh no! It was borrowed!” Elisha asked where it fell in. He threw a stick in the water, and the iron floated. The man reached in and lifted it out. And the story ends there.
Just a few short paragraphs! And yet it’s just another reminder that God cares about absolutely everything in our lives.
There’s nothing too small or too big for Him! The next time you are faced with a difficult situation, remember there’s nothing in our lives that He doesn’t care about. Pray and give it to Him! He can handle every problem that comes our way! He really is a “God of the details.”
