Persistence and Great Faith

In Matthew 15:21-28, there is a beautiful story of faith. A woman is asking Jesus to heal her daughter.

In the beginning, the woman cried out and Jesus ignored her. I think maybe He was waiting to see how desperate she was. She cried out again.

Jesus responded and said that He had come for the lost sheep of Israel. Then she knelt. I believe her act of kneeling showed that she recognized who Jesus was and that He had authority over sickness. In her desperation, she cried out, “Lord, help me!”

Jesus then said that because of her great faith, her request was granted. “And her daughter was healed from that very hour.” Matthew 15:28

There are some spiritual truths in this story. First of all, how great is our faith? And then, how persistent are we?

Faith and persistence result in answers to our prayers! It’s important that we remember when we are praying and asking God for something, we need to have faith and believe and never give up!
