Faith and Sight

We live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7.

This is a verse that I have heard all of my life. It’s a verse that we as Christians must put into practice daily. Many of us have things we are praying for but have not yet seen the answer to. That’s when we need to put this verse into action.

“Faith” is something we believe in but cannot prove. One of the definitions of the word “sight” is “coming into view.” When we are praying about something, we need to be believing and looking for the answer to come.

It’s not always easy to keep trusting and believing when we have prayed and not seen an answer to our prayer. I love how the Message paraphrases this verse.

“It’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going. Do you suppose a few ruts in the road or rocks in the path are going to stop us?”

Whether you have prayed for days, weeks, months, or maybe even years, don’t let those ruts or rocks stop you! Let faith keep you going! Your answer is coming into view!
