How Much Faith Do You Have?

Maybe the question should be, “How much faith do you need?”

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.” Luke 17:5,6 (NIV)

The Message paraphrase says, “If you have a bare kernel of faith, say the size of a poppy seed, you could say to this sycamore tree, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it would do it.”

So many times, we feel like we need a lot of faith, or great faith. But Jesus said we only need the faith of a mustard seed. I don’t know if you have seen a mustard seed, but they are tiny.

It’s not so much how great or small our faith is, but where we are placing our faith. We can’t do anything on our own. In Luke 18:27, Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

And that’s the secret! It’s when we put our faith in God that we begin to see miracles! The seas part! Mountains move! Put your faith in God today and trust Him to do the impossible!
