We Are Protected
In John 10:25-30, Jesus is talking about those who believe and don’t believe in Him. He refers to those who believe in Him as His “sheep.”
He says His sheep know His voice and follow Him.
When I think of sheep, I think of these beautiful, little, white, furry animals. They seem defenseless and like they might need a lot of protection. In verse 29, it says no one can snatch us out of the Father’s hand. Verse 30 says, “I and the Father are one.”
I really love this verse in The Message paraphrase. “They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand. The Father who put them under my care is so much greater than the Destroyer and Thief. No one could ever get them away from him. I and the Father are one heart and mind.”
This is so reassuring! No one can take us away from the Father. We are safe and we are protected. No one can steal us out of the Father’s hand! We are secure, when we choose to follow Jesus!
