Crossing the Jordan

Most of us are familiar with the story of Moses leading the children of Israel across the Red Sea on dry ground. The story of Joshua leading them across the Jordan River is probably not as well known, but it is still a powerful story.

In Joshua chapter 3, Joshua told the Israelites exactly what was going to happen. He said, “As soon as the priests carrying the ark of the Lord…set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand in a heap.” Joshua 3:13

This is the part of the story I really love: “Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during the harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing.” Joshua 3:15,16

God was not a moment too late, but He wasn’t early either! He performed the miracle right when He needed to! And He will be there for you as well! No matter what you may be going through, remember it was as soon as their feet touched the water’s edge that the miracle happened! God’s timing is always perfect!
