Overflowing With Thankfulness

In writing to the church at Colosse, Paul gave some instructions on how to live our lives.

“So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6,7

There are two parts to these verses. The first part encourages us to stay rooted, grounded, and strong in our faith. This means we should be unwavering in our devotion to the Lord.

After that, we are instructed to be overflowing with thankfulness. I believe if we are diligent about staying strong in our faith, the next part will come naturally⎯we will be overflowing with thankfulness.

And how can we not be overflowing with thankfulness when we remember all the Lord has done for us. Sometimes it’s good to just stop and say, “Thank You Lord, for your faithfulness and goodness to me!”
