Prayer

We all know how important prayer is in the life of a believer. I think we should begin our day with prayer. There are other times during the day when we pray for certain situations and people whom God puts on our hearts.

When we pray, we should pray for our families and friends. Pray for our church family and spiritual leaders. Pray for government and leaders.

All these prayers are important, but we should also pray for ourselves.

Psalm 140:6-7 reads like this: “O Lord, I say to you, ‘You are my God.’ Hear, O Lord, my cry for mercy. O Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, who shields my head in the day of battle…”

I would say this is a prayer of desperation! I don’t know what the psalmist was going through on the day he wrote this, but can you relate to this prayer? Are there times when you have cried out for mercy? Are there times when you needed a deliverer and maybe your head to be shielded in battle?

I know many people are going through difficult situations right now. I encourage you to cry out to our Sovereign Lord, who is all powerful! He will shield you! He will rescue you! He will deliver you!
