Fear Not, Stand Still

“Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which He will show you today.” Exodus 14:13

That was the word Moses spoke to the children of Israel right before God parted the Red Sea for them and led them across on dry land.

Can you imagine what it must have been like on that day? How could you tell the people not to fear and to stand still with the enemy behind them and a great sea of water in front of them?

And yet, that is the same thing God is saying to us today! Whatever may be before you or behind you, God is saying to us that He will save us! He wants us to be still and have no fear.

I realize it is one thing to say we will do that but much harder to actually do it. But if we really trust God and really believe He is in control, then we can know for sure that He is working out everything for our good.

We serve a big God! Parting a “Red Sea” is not too difficult for Him. And if He can part the waters, He can take us across on dry land! So today, fear not, stand still and watch what God is going to do for you!
