Contentment

My dad kept journals and I am so blessed to still have them. Sometimes he would choose a “theme” for the week. One week his theme was “contentment.”

That’s an interesting word and the definition of contentment is “to be satisfied.” If you look around you, you will notice a lot of people who are not content or satisfied.

Some people think more material possessions will bring them contentment. Others are looking for more success or power.

Philippians 4:11 (Amplified) says, “For I have learned how to be content [satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted] in whatever state I am.”

My dad went on to write down the words to this old song:

Jesus is all the world to me,

My life, my joy, my all.

He is my strength from day to day.

Without Him I would fall.

When we have Jesus, we have everything! We can be satisfied and content and nothing can disturb us because we have the peace that only Jesus can give!

Let’s make the choice to live satisfied and contented every day!
