Superheroes

Eddy just recently preached a sermon on “Superheroes.” So here are my thoughts that I have on the subject. I actually already had them typed before I heard the sermon.

There are a lot of people in the Bible who we might consider “Superheroes.” David is one that comes to my mind immediately. With God’s help, he brought down Goliath with a stone and a slingshot.

I don’t really think God desires for all of us to be “superheroes,” but I do think He wants us to do incredible things for the Kingdom of God.

“…But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32

Exploits is an interesting word. One definition says it is “a notable achievement.”

Another translation of this verse says God’s people “will display strength and take action.” (NASB)

What if we take this verse to heart and ask God what He would have us do? Where and how would He like us to display strength and take action and bring glory to His Kingdom?

Are you ready? I know I am! My desire is for God to make me strong and do exploits for His glory!
