How We Should Live

I’m so thankful for God’s Word! It is full of promises to us as believers. But it is also full of guidance on how God would have us live our lives.

In Ephesians 4:31, it says that we should put away bitterness, wrath, anger, slander and malice. So that’s where I should start. I want to rid my heart of anything that’s not pleasing to God.

But it doesn’t stop there. Ephesians 4:32 says, “to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ has also forgiven you.”

First of all, am I kind and tenderhearted? Maybe not always, especially if I’m driving in traffic with crazy drivers! If I’m honest, in those moments, I don’t always feel kind and tenderhearted!

And then, am I forgiving? That’s a hard one, isn’t it? When we feel we have been wronged, it’s really hard to forgive. But it’s not optional. If I want God’s forgiveness, then I have to give forgiveness. That’s God’s plan! And that’s how we should live!
