He Sends Them Packing

In the first chapter of the Book of Mark, there’s a powerful story of Jesus delivering a man with an evil spirit.

The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey Him.” Mark 1:27

I like to read verses in different translations and I love how The Message paraphrases this one!

Everyone there was incredulous, buzzing with curiosity. “What’s going on here? A new teaching that does what it says? He shuts up defiling, demonic spirits and sends them packing!”

We know Jesus worked many miracles when He walked on this earth, but I think in the busyness of life, we sometimes forget that He is just as powerful today!

He has power over the enemy that comes against us! He didn’t just shut up the demonic spirits, He sent them packing! And He will do the same for us! All we have to do is ask Him and believe!
