Wherever We Go
Jacob said, “I will build an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone.” Genesis 35:3
If you have studied the life of Jacob, then you will probably remember his story. He tricked his father into giving him the blessing that rightfully belonged to his brother, Esau. He had to flee from his home.
Then there was the night he wrestled with the angel. He also had to flee from his father-in-law, Laban. But in chapter 35 in the Book of Genesis, he is returning to Bethel. That’s where he is going to build an altar to God.
At this point in his life, Jacob was remembering all he had been through and he was thankful to God who had heard and answered him. That is such a powerful thought! God hears and answers us!
God was always with Jacob! Even when he was fleeing for his life, God never left him. God never abandoned Jacob.
And just as God was with Jacob, He will surely be with you!
