Be Strong and Very Courageous

I love the stories in the Old Testament about all the great leaders! Moses was probably the greatest leader of the Israelites, but when he died, Joshua became the leader. Joshua had some pretty big shoes to fill!

In Joshua 1:6, God said to Joshua, “Be strong and courageous.”

In Joshua 1:7, God said, “Be strong and very courageous.”

In other words, God is telling Joshua to be powerful and brave and the “very courageous” means to “have a high” degree of courage. And because Joshua was courageous, he became a great leader as well.

What is God asking you to do? Is it something that will take great courage? One thing we can be sure of is that if God asks us to do something, He will equip us and help us do it. Look around you. Is there something God is asking you to do? Then do it! He will help you!

Be strong and very courageous!
