The Battle Isn’t Over
One of my favorite stories in all of the Bible is the story of David when he killed Goliath. And as exciting as that story is, it didn’t stop there!
In 2 Samuel 21:15-22, there is a story of wars against the Philistines. David and his army were credited for killing four men. I’m not sure how big they all were, but the fourth one was huge, with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.
The point is, that sometimes after a great victory, we may become comfortable and think the battle is over. After all, David had killed Goliath with a stone and a slingshot. But the reality is, in this life, there will probably always be some kind of a battle! John 10:10 says, “the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy.”
Our job is to always be ready to fight the enemy! James 4:7 says, “Resist the devil and he will flee.”
Let’s do this! Let’s stand our ground and fight! Let’s resist the devil and watch him turn around and flee! The battle may not be over, but just like God was with David and his men, He is with us! He will make us victorious!
