Calling Out to God

Don’t we all just love the Book of Psalms? I sure do! It’s our “go-to book” in the Bible when we need an encouraging word!

I noticed something interesting recently. About halfway through the Book of Psalms, there’s chapters 69, 70 and 71.

This is what I read in these three chapters:

“Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck…I am worn out calling for help, my throat is parched.” Psalm 69:1, 3

“Hasten, O God, to save me: O Lord, come quickly to help me.” Psalm 70:1

“In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.”

Psalm 7l:1

Have you ever experienced a time like this? A time when you, like the Psalmist, are desperately calling out to God?

If so, here’s the good news! It doesn’t end there!

“The Lord hears the needy and does not despise His captive people.”  Psalm 69:33

“You are my help and my deliverer.” Psalm 70:5

“My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to You—I whom You have redeemed.” Psalm 71:23

Be encouraged! He hears when we cry out! And He answers!
