Don't Give Up, Keep Running
The Bible often refers to our Christian life as a “race.” Hebrews 12:1 is my “life” verse.
“Therefore, seeing we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”
I memorized this verse many years ago in the King James Version, but I came across a different translation recently that reads like this:
“You need to stick it out staying with God’s plan so you will be there for God’s promised completion.”
There are times when we become discouraged, but it’s in those hard times that we need to remind ourselves “to stick it out.” This is not a time to be thinking of giving up! We want to see “God’s promised completion.”
One of my dear friends says, “We don’t give up! Give out! Or give in!”
It’s always too soon to quit! Keep running the race!
