Settled, Stayed, Steady
Psalm 112:7 says, “…his heart is steadfast in the Lord.”
As I read this verse, there are other words similar to “steadfast” that come to mind. Words like “stay” or “settle.” These words have similar meanings.
If you are “steadfast,” you are firm and resolute.
To be “settled” is to become fixed or established.
And my favorite may be the word “stay.” That means you will remain and hold out to the end.
In the world we are living in, we can easily become distracted. It’s kind of like a ship or boat that gets caught in a storm and is blown off its course. But if I determine in my heart to stay, to be settled and remain steadfast, I will stay on course. In the storms of life, we must keep our eyes on Jesus! He is faithful! He will not fail!
