Throw, Hurl, Fling

I recently had the opportunity to pray with a dear lady who was going through a very difficult situation. Life had become overwhelming. We prayed together and I believe God is going to work miracles in her life.

The opportunity of praying with her was a reminder of the faithfulness of God. I love the verse that says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

The word “cast” is interesting. It’s not a word I would usually use so I looked up the meaning.

One meaning of cast is to throw. Another meaning is to hurl. And another is to fling. If I were going to paraphrase this verse, I think I would use all three and it would read like this: “Throw, hurl, fling ALL your anxiety, cares, and worry on the Lord. He cares for you!”

When we are in a difficult place in our lives, we need to stop and remind ourselves how much our Heavenly Father loves us! He really does care for us! Take a moment today and cast all your cares on Him! There is nothing too big or too small that He doesn’t care about.
