He Can Keep Us From Falling

There is a verse of scripture tucked away in the little book of Jude that I really love. It’s in the very last paragraph of this book.

“To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.” Jude 24,26

Life is so full of challenges and sometimes we just mess up and make mistakes! And in those times, we wonder how we could ever stand in God’s presence without fault. But here is the answer—it is Him, Jesus Christ our Lord, who keeps us from falling! He has the power and authority to hold us up when everything around us seems to be shaking.

One version of this verse reads like this, “And now to Him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in His bright presence, fresh and celebrating….”

The reality is that we could never do this on our own. Jesus Christ our Lord makes it possible. He is the One who has the power and authority to keep us standing tall!
