Trusting

If you look up the word “trust” in the dictionary, you will find five definitions for this five-letter word. My favorite definition is “confident expectation.”

Psalm 125:1 says, “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion which cannot be shaken but endures forever.” In other words, we could say that if we trust in the Lord, we are unmovable.

There are a lot of things people put their trust in today. Some may put their trust in the fact that they have a great education, a large bank account, or maybe they have an important job.

All of these things are nice to have, but when we go through the storms of life, we need an anchor. We need a firm foundation. We need something to cling to that doesn’t change or move, even when the storms of life surround us.

That brings us back to this verse. If we want to not be shaken, if we want to be unmovable, then our trust and confident expectation needs to be in the Lord. He is the one who will never fail us!
